I’ve been meaning to start a blog for a while, but I’ve been waiting for something really significant to happen to me in order to start off with something big. Every time something big has come around, though, I’ve had many more things on my mind besides blogging. I’ve come to realize that if I want to start with a bang, then I will likely never start at all. So here goes…
A bit about myself:
I’m a 15-year-old sophomore in the Bay Area. As such, I am interested in regular sophomore-guy things, these being girls, sports, driving, shell programming, number theory and quantum mechanics.
About where I live:
I generally get one of two reactions when I say that I’m from Piedmont - either confusion (”from where?”) or disgust (”Oh.” *turns around and walks away*). I’m not sure which I prefer, since I feel both myself. For the confused, I generally explain things this way - You can think of Oakland as a big donut. Berkeley is the bite out of the donut, and Piedmont…is the hole. Piedmont is a little enlcave of higly successful people who love our schools and our tree-lined streets nearly as much as they love themselves. This being said, we have excellent schools and beautiful streets. What we have in quality of living we make up for with a lack of things to see and do, places to go, people to talk to - culture generally. In spite of this terrible atmosphere of success and contentment, I’d say I’ve got a pretty good life. I’m a good student, I have things to look forward to and I have friends. I’m also really good at writing trite endings for my posts.
